The board is not finished when it looks right on your laptop. It is finished when the crew, the client and the editor have the **same version** in the format they can use.

## PDF board deck

Printable, one or more panels per page, footers visible. This is what still gets taped to a wall. Sample: [PDF](/downloads/cineoboard-sample-storyboard.pdf).

## CSV shot list

The [nine columns](/shot-list-template). Sortable for the AD. [Download the blank](/downloads/cineoboard-shot-list-template.csv).

## MP4 animatic

Pictures plus time plus scratch audio. Proves the slot. [How to make an animatic](/blog/how-to-make-an-animatic). Timing sheet: [CSV](/downloads/cineoboard-animatic-timing.csv).

## Image sequence / NLE

Reframe exports toward Premiere and Final Cut for crews that cut on pictures. The rule is the same: export from the approved version, not from a folder called `export2`.

## What not to do

Email five formats from five dates. One record, many exports. That is the product pitch because it is the actual failure. [Pre-production software](/pre-production-software).

## FAQ

### Do clients need the CSV?

Rarely. They need the PDF or the review link. The CSV is for production.

### Can I still send PPTX?

Yes if the agency insists. Treat it as an export, not as the working file.
