Desktop storyboarding

Put the whole scene on the board.

Draw the frame, block the camera, set the timing, and deliver the plan from one focused desktop workspace.

01

Your first board

Start with the story, not the settings. Four steps take a rough idea to a reviewable animatic.

  1. 01

    Open a story

Create a blank board or open a CineoBoard project, Fountain screenplay, or Final Draft file.

  2. 02

    Draw the beat

Sketch with seven tuned tools. Keep color and line work on separate layers, then add dialogue, action, and notes.

  3. 03

    Shape the sequence

Add, duplicate, reorder, and time boards on the filmstrip. Press Space to watch the cut.

  4. 04

    Share the plan

Prepare a board deck, animatic, image sequence, or production handoff from the same project.

02

One workspace, three jobs

01

Draw and organize

Tools stay above the canvas. Shot details stay beside it. The filmstrip and timing controls stay with the sequence.

02

Stage in 3D

Place simple characters, lights, and props. Set focal length and camera height, then use the result as drawing reference.

03

Print and deliver

Choose paper, orientation, grid, metadata, and notes while a live page preview updates beside you.

Local projects remain on your computer.

03

Keyboard reference
